an occasional poem on taking oneself too seriously; or, we are what weeds do.

for e a – good i.q.

1. ‘we are what weeds do’

decline plastic bags.
'wherever possible, read a story with a child, fit at least.'
one, energy-saving, light, bulb-basic first-aid smile.
take public transport when you can plant a tree?
have a bath with someone you love if it says 30mph.
do 30mph turn.
by 1º get fitter.
feel!
better turn off appliances at the mains.
recycle your mobile-phone-spend-time with someone from a different generation-register, online, as an organ donor.
change to charity…
try watching 'Less T.V.': learn to be friendly in another language, learn one good joke – find out how!

your money is invested.
turn off…

unnecessary Lights – use your will to good effect – have more meals.
together, put your gum in the bin; use a mug, not a plastic!

cup-give blood-pay.
“More! When you buy at charity shops, seize the moment!”
recycle your computer-bake-something for a friend.
turn…

off the tap, whilst, you brushing,
2. your teeth do something you think you are unable to do -

recycle!
your books buy fairly traded products.
write to!

someone who inspired you, take time too.
listen, let at least one car in.

on every journey don’t overfill your kettle-shop, locally! Join!
something hug someone.
recycle!

your specs grow something with a child.
report dumped rubbish.
to your council, give your phone number; to 5 people in your street, use both sides of every piece.

of paper: Buy a copy,
of this: book for a friend – “send us”
[an action] learn,
“More! do more! do something!”

for nothing, find out where your lunch has come from.
recycle!
waste paper: calculate your carbon.
[my]foot, print 'don't!'
be an idea’s killer – use a biro
from start to finish; start a car.
'Pool[e], enjoy a fairtrade “Brew-Pull the Plug” on mobile phone chargers.'
praise!
people, remember people’s names, speak, rather.

3. thane-mail

make a radio.
request for the person opposite you practise good manners.
recycle!
your printer cartridges pass this book around.
take Break’s share.
your lunch, with someone, try a job-swap shut-down.

your computer, properly give, as you
go practise mobile manners.
lose the plastic.

cup-leave work on time
at least once a week, turn away.
from your screen
'And, Blink, be nice.'

to temps, use one of these:
email signatures show empathy – photocopy on both.
sides? – give up some
spare time? - choose your friends.
wisely challenge your business about
it’s ‘lights on at night’ policy.
Aspire not to have.

'More! but to be More!'

Learn to save a life-smile when you answer the phone-support.
small businesses – avoid waste, play bullshit.

'Bingo, get off one!'
stop early, ring the IT.

help Desk just to see how they are.
send this to your boss – take!
the stairs bring your kids into work.

for the day, don’t judge someone.
by the Job they do make a coffee!
for someone busier than you, earn fewer air.

“Miles, blow the whistle on!”

workplace bullies, say thanks
Spread!
'the word? Know-how.'
you fit into the bigger picture? Fail!

when you're done look at this to see what we read, to see the perfidious influence of what we were so appauled by that we were forced to become poets to counter. it's essentially people our age acting small-minded and middle aged:

one might ask: 'dont you think some of those suggestions are wise? i mean, i don't think it should be the burden of the members of society to take on environmental issues by curbing their behaviour, but when the powers that be dont give a shit...'

No, it doesn't matter if, taken baldly and individually, some of the suggestions could be seen as 'wise', what matters is the way in which they are presented and the pomposity with which these prickin' bro-foes seem to curtail any significant political consciousness or action with their small-town, smaller-minded bourgeois suggestoons. i rest my case.
